Team and roles
Add people to your workspace, choose owner, admin or member, and know exactly what each role can do.
What you will achieve
You will give colleagues the right level of access, and remove it again when needed.
Roles
| Role | What it means |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access, including billing and the team. Only an owner can delete the workspace. |
| Admin | Can build agents and manage the team. |
| Member | Can test and use agents, but not create or change them. |
Members can look at everything and try things out (test calls, Talk, reviewing calls), and can change their own name and password. Anything that creates, edits or deletes is refused for a member, on the server as well as in the page. In the dashboard those controls stay visible but are disabled, and hovering shows why.
Two rules protect the workspace: only an owner can give or remove the owner role, and there must always be at least one owner. You cannot remove yourself.
Prerequisites
- The owner or admin role to add or change people.
Step-by-step: invite by email
- Open Team and choose Invite Member.
- Enter the Email and choose a Role (the hint under the field explains it).
- Send the invitation. The person receives an email with a link that works for 7 days.
- If they already have an account, they find the invitation under Invitations and choose to accept or decline. If not, the link takes them through creating one.
Until it is accepted the invitation is listed under the Pending invites tab.
Step-by-step: add someone directly
- Choose Add member.
- Enter the Email, an optional Name, a Password (at least 8 characters) and a Role.
- Choose Add member. The account exists immediately; give the person the password yourself. They can change it under Settings.
Change a role or remove someone
In the member list, open the actions menu on their row. You can choose Make admin, Make member, or Remove. Removing asks you to confirm ("They will lose access to this workspace immediately.").
The Team page
Tabs: All members, Owners, Admins and Members; owners and admins also see Pending invites and Activity. The cards at the top count Total members, Signed in, Owners & admins and Pending invites. A search box finds people by name or email.
Several workspaces
A person can belong to more than one workspace by accepting invitations. They switch between them from the Workspace card at the top of the sidebar, under the logo; each has its own agents, numbers, contacts, plan and team.
Testing
Invite a second email address as Member, accept it, and confirm that Create agent is disabled for that person while Talk still works.
Expected result
The new person appears under All members with the role you chose, and sees only what the role allows.
Troubleshooting
- No email arrives. Check spam; the Pending invites tab shows it was created. You can add the person directly instead.
- "Only the workspace owner can delete it." Deleting the workspace is owner-only.
- Cannot remove the last owner. Make someone else an owner first.
