Connect a phone provider
Save your provider's credentials in Phynxa, check that they work, and import your numbers.
What you will achieve
You will have a provider marked Connected and its numbers imported.
Prerequisites
- An account with the provider, with at least one number that can take voice calls.
- The provider's credentials. The sections for each provider say where to find them: Twilio, Telnyx, Plivo, Vonage, Exotel.
- The owner or admin role.
Step-by-step setup
- Open Phone numbers and the Providers tab.
- On the provider's card, choose Add credentials (or Update credentials if it is already connected).
- In Connect {provider}, fill in each field. Secret fields are hidden; the eye icon shows what you typed. Open {provider} console links to the provider.
- Choose Save. A confirmation reads "{provider} credentials saved." and the card now shows Connected.
- Choose Import numbers. Phynxa reads your account. Under Import from {provider}, tick the numbers to use and choose Import. Numbers already in Phynxa show Already here.
Configuration details
- Credentials are stored per workspace and not shown again; fields show Set or Not set on the card.
- Import numbers reads your provider account live. If the credentials are wrong, it fails with the provider's own message, which makes it the quickest check that they are correct.
- You can import numbers any time you buy more.
Testing
If Import numbers lists your numbers, the credentials work.
Expected result
Your imported numbers appear on the Numbers tab, not yet assigned to an agent (the Answered by column shows Not assigned).
Troubleshooting
- "Twilio needs Account SID, Auth token." A field is empty.
- The provider's own error (for example an authentication failure). Re-copy the credentials from the provider; check for a trailing space.
- "Nothing to import." The account has no voice numbers, or the numbers are on a different account.
- Could not reach the provider. A temporary network problem; try again.
