Vonage

Connect Vonage and import its numbers, then point a number at Phynxa so an agent answers it.

Good to know. Outbound calls, campaigns and transfers run on Twilio, not on Vonage.

What you will achieve

Your Vonage account is connected and its numbers are listed in Phynxa.

Prerequisites

  • A Vonage account with an API key and API secret.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Phone numbers, Providers tab, Vonage card, Add credentials.
  2. Enter API key and API secret, choose Save.
  3. Choose Import numbers. Vonage numbers are shown with a leading +.

Pointing a Vonage number at Phynxa

In the Vonage dashboard (Vonage controls these screens), create an application with the Voice capability, set its Answer URL to the Vonage address from Phynxa's Webhook setup tab with the method POST, and link your number to the application. Vonage's guide: Handle an inbound phone call.

Configuration details

Phynxa replies to Vonage with an NCCO (Vonage's JSON call instructions). Outbound calls, campaigns and transfers use Twilio only.

Testing

Import numbers is the check that the credentials work.

Expected result

The Vonage card shows Connected and its numbers can be imported.

Troubleshooting

  • Error on import. Re-copy the key and secret.
  • Calls connect but silent. Use Twilio for live calls.
