Twilio

Connect Twilio, import a number, and point it at Phynxa. Twilio supports live calls, outbound calls and transfers.

What you will achieve

You will have a Twilio number answered by a Phynxa agent, and the ability to place outbound calls and transfer to a human.

Prerequisites

  • A Twilio account with a voice-capable phone number.
  • Your Account SID (starts with AC) and Auth token, from the Twilio console.
  • A published agent (not available on the Free plan).

Step-by-step setup

In Phynxa

  1. Phone numbers, Providers tab, Twilio card, Add credentials.
  2. Enter Account SID and Auth token, choose Save.
  3. Choose Import numbers, tick your number, choose Import.
  4. On the Numbers tab, open the number's menu and choose Assign agent.
  5. Open the Webhook setup tab and copy the Twilio address.

In the Twilio console (Twilio controls these screens, so labels can change)

  1. Open your phone number in the Twilio console and find its voice settings. Set A call comes in to Webhook, paste the address, and set the method to HTTP POST. Save.

Twilio's own guide, Respond to incoming phone calls, shows the current screens.

Configuration details

  • The address carries a key unique to your workspace (?key=...) that proves the request came from a provider you configured. Do not share it. Twilio's own request signature is also accepted.
  • Make default outbound (in the number's menu) sets the number used as caller ID for outbound calls. Outbound calls, campaigns and Test call all dial through your Twilio account.
  • Transfer to a human hangs the caller over using Twilio, so it works for Twilio calls.
  • Each inbound minute is billed by Twilio at its own rate; Phynxa shows an approximate figure for orientation only.

Testing

Call the number. Then use Test call on Phone numbers to have an outbound agent ring a number you choose.

Expected result

The agent answers; History shows the call with direction Inbound or Outbound.

Troubleshooting

  • Authentication errors on import. Re-copy the SID and token; the token is the one shown in the console, not a sub-account's.
  • Callers hear "no agent is available". Publish the agent and check the Answered by column.
  • Callers hear "This service is not configured for calls yet." The platform's public address is not set. Contact support.
  • Twilio shows a webhook error (11200, 11205). The address in the number's voice settings is wrong or unreachable; copy it again from Webhook setup.
