Telnyx

Connect Telnyx and import its numbers, then point a number at Phynxa so an agent answers it.

Good to know. Outbound calls, campaigns and transfers run on Twilio, not on Telnyx.

What you will achieve

Your Telnyx account is connected and its numbers are listed in Phynxa.

Prerequisites

  • A Telnyx account and an API key (starts with KEY) from Telnyx's Mission Control Portal.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Phone numbers, Providers tab, Telnyx card, Add credentials.
  2. Enter the API key and choose Save.
  3. Choose Import numbers to list your Telnyx numbers.

Pointing a Telnyx number at Phynxa

Telnyx routes an inbound call through a TeXML application. In the Telnyx portal (Telnyx controls these screens), create a TeXML application whose webhook URL is the Telnyx address from Phynxa's Webhook setup tab, set the method to POST (Telnyx defaults to GET, and Phynxa's address accepts POST only), and assign your number to that application. Telnyx's guide: TeXML setup.

Configuration details

  • Phynxa answers the webhook with a stream instruction and the agent assigned to the number, the same way as for Twilio.
  • Outbound calls, campaigns and human transfers use Twilio only.

Testing

Import is the check that your key works. A live call test on Telnyx is at your own risk; if audio does not work, use Twilio.

Expected result

Import numbers lists your Telnyx numbers, and the Telnyx card shows Connected.

Troubleshooting

  • Authentication failed on import. Re-copy the API key.
  • A call rings but nothing is said. Expected if the live-call handler does not understand Telnyx's stream; use Twilio.
