Google Calendar
Connect Google Calendar so an agent can create, list and cancel events on your primary calendar and email the guests.
What you will achieve
An agent will be able to put events on your Google Calendar, list upcoming ones and cancel one, during a call.
Overview and use cases
- Book an appointment straight into your calendar and invite the customer.
- Tell a caller what is already booked.
- Cancel an event when a caller asks.
Prerequisites
- A Google account whose calendar you want the agent to use. Events go on its primary calendar.
- If Phynxa does not supply the Google app for your workspace, a Google Cloud OAuth client (see below).
External account setup (in Google)
Only needed if the Connect dialog asks for a Client ID and secret. Google controls these screens. Google's guide: Create events.
- In the Google Cloud console, create an OAuth client (web application) and enable the Google Calendar API.
- Add the redirect URL shown in Phynxa's dialog as an authorized redirect URI.
- Copy the Client ID and Client secret.
Connect it in Phynxa
- Integrations, Connect on Google Calendar. If it reads Sign in with Google, press it and approve. Otherwise paste the Client ID and secret first.
- Choose your Google account and approve.
- The card shows Connected with your address.
Permissions and settings
Scopes: calendar.events (create, list and delete events) and userinfo.email (to show which account is connected). Only those are requested; the connection holds nothing it does not use.
Use it in a call
| Action | What it does | Runs |
|---|---|---|
| Create calendar event | Adds an event with a title, start, end, time zone and guest emails. Guests are emailed an invitation. | In the background |
| List calendar events | Lists events between two times, optionally containing some text. | Waits |
| Cancel event | Deletes an event by its id. Guests are told. | In the background |
Times are given as date and time with a time zone, such as 2026-11-02T15:00:00 and Asia/Dubai. The agent knows its own time zone and the current time, so "tomorrow at 3" works once its Timezone is right.
Test it
Test connection, then in Chat ask the agent to book a meeting tomorrow at 3 and check Google Calendar.
Expected result
The event appears on your primary calendar; guests receive invitations.
Troubleshooting
- The event lands at the wrong hour. Set the agent's Timezone under Language and timezone.
- Access blocked. Your Google Cloud app may be in testing mode; add your account as a test user, or publish the app.
- "The connected app could not be reached." Try again; if it persists, Reconnect.
Security and credentials
Tokens are stored encrypted. Revoke access any time at your Google account's security page; Remove also forgets it in Phynxa.
