Asana
Connect Asana with a personal access token so an agent can turn a call into a task, update and comment on tasks.
What you will achieve
Asana will show Connected.
Overview and use cases
The connection can create and update tasks, comment on them and list a project's tasks: the basis for turning a call into a task.
Prerequisites
- An Asana account.
External account setup (in Asana)
Asana controls these screens. Asana's guide: Personal access token.
- Open the Asana developer console and Create new token.
- Copy the token.
- Optionally note a Project ID (the number in a project's address) for new tasks.
Connect it in Phynxa
- Integrations, Connect on Asana.
- Paste the Personal access token. Optionally enter Project ID (where new tasks go) and Workspace ID (needed only with no project and more than one workspace).
- Choose Check and connect.
Permissions and settings
A task belongs to one workspace, fixed when it is created. Asana's workspace-wide task search is a paid feature (it answers 402 otherwise), so Phynxa lists tasks per project.
Use it in a call
On an agent's Tools tab, Add tool, Integration, Asana:
| Action | What it does | Runs |
|---|---|---|
| Create task | Creates a task in the connection's project. Needs name; notes, due_on (like 2026-11-02) and assignee (an email, or me) are optional. | In the background |
| Update task | Changes a task. Needs task_gid (from List tasks); only the name, notes, due_on or completed you give are changed. | In the background |
| Add comment | Comments on a task. Needs task_gid and text. | In the background |
| Get task | Reads one task: title, notes, due date, assignee and whether it is done. Needs task_gid. | Waits |
| List tasks | Lists the project's open tasks with their ids (include_completed adds finished ones). | Waits |
Tasks always go in the project saved with the connection.
Test it
Test connection should answer "Asana is responding."
Expected result
The card shows Connected.
Troubleshooting
- Check fails. The token is wrong or was revoked.
- 402 on a search. The feature needs a paid Asana plan.
Security and credentials
The token is stored encrypted. Delete it in Asana to revoke access; Remove forgets it here.
