Notion

Connect Notion with an internal connection token so an agent can log calls as pages, search and comment.

What you will achieve

Notion will show Connected, with the pages and databases you shared.

Overview and use cases

The connection can create pages (or database rows), append text, search, query a database and add comments, which is the basis for logging calls as Notion pages.

Prerequisites

  • A Notion workspace and permission to create an internal connection.

External account setup (in Notion)

Notion controls these screens. Notion's guide: Authorization.

  1. Create an internal connection at app.notion.com/developers/connections and copy its token.
  2. Share each page or database you want to use with the connection (the page's ••• menu, Connections). A connection only sees what is shared with it.
  3. If you want rows added to a database, copy its data source ID (Manage data sources, Copy ID).

Connect it in Phynxa

  1. Integrations, Connect on Notion.
  2. Paste the Internal connection token. Optionally enter Data source ID (for new rows) and Parent page ID (where new pages go when there is no data source).
  3. Choose Check and connect.

Permissions and settings

Phynxa uses Notion API version 2026-03-11, in which databases are queried as data sources. Notion limits text to 2,000 characters per block of text and about three requests a second.

Use it in a call

On an agent's Tools tab, Add tool, Integration, Notion:

ActionWhat it doesRuns
Create pageCreates a page (or a row in the saved database). Needs title; content is optional, and a new line starts a new paragraph. It goes where the connection was set up to put new pages. In the background
Append to pageAdds text to the end of a page. Needs page_id (from a search) and content. In the background
SearchFinds pages by title. Needs query.Waits
Add commentComments on a page. Needs page_id and text.In the background

Share a page or database with the connection first (••• > Connections), or Notion answers "not found". Querying a database with filters is not offered, because it needs the database's own column layout.

Test it

Test connection should answer "Notion is responding."

Expected result

The card shows Connected.

Troubleshooting

  • 404 on a page or database. It is not shared with the connection; share it and try again.
  • Check fails. The token is wrong or from a different workspace.

Security and credentials

The token is stored encrypted. Remove the connection in Notion to revoke access; Remove forgets it here.
