Salesforce

Connect Salesforce with your own OAuth app so an agent can create leads, attach notes and read activity during a call.

What you will achieve

An agent will be able to create a Lead in Salesforce, attach a note to a record, and read recent activity.

Overview and use cases

  • Turn each new caller into a Salesforce Lead.
  • Attach a call note to a record.
  • Look up what has been logged for a contact by email.

Prerequisites

  • A Salesforce org where you can create an OAuth app (a Connected App or External Client App), usually an administrator.
  • To use a sandbox, its login host.

External account setup (in Salesforce)

Salesforce controls these screens. Salesforce's reference: REST API resources.

  1. In Setup, create an OAuth app with the callback (redirect) URL shown in Phynxa's Connect dialog.
  2. Allow the scopes api, refresh_token and offline_access.
  3. Copy the Consumer Key (Client ID) and Consumer Secret (Client secret).

Connect it in Phynxa

  1. Integrations, Connect on Salesforce.
  2. Enter Client ID, Client secret and Login host: https://login.salesforce.com for production, https://test.salesforce.com for a sandbox.
  3. Continue to Salesforce and approve. The card shows Connected.

Phynxa calls the instance URL Salesforce returns with the token (never the login host), on API version v67.0.

Test it

Test connection on the card. Then attach Create lead to an agent, ask it to save a lead in Chat, and check Leads in Salesforce.

Expected result

A Lead appears in Salesforce, and the card counts a successful request.

Troubleshooting

  • invalid_client or redirect mismatch. The callback URL in your app must match Phynxa's exactly.
  • Sandbox cannot sign in. Use https://test.salesforce.com as the login host.
  • REST access refused. The signed-in user needs API access, and your app must allow the api scope.

Security and credentials

The consumer secret is stored encrypted. Connect as a user whose permissions match what you want the agent to do. Remove forgets the connection; revoke the app in Salesforce if you stop using it.
