Shopify
Connect one Shopify store with a Dev Dashboard app or an older admin token so an agent can look up orders, customers and products.
What you will achieve
Your store will show Connected in Phynxa.
Overview and use cases
The connection can find orders, customers and products and create a customer through Shopify's Admin GraphQL API (version 2026-10): the building blocks for answering "where is my order?" calls.
Prerequisites
- A Shopify store you own, and permission to create an app for it.
External account setup (in Shopify)
Shopify controls these screens. Shopify's guide: Client credentials grant.
New apps (since 1 January 2026)
- In the Shopify Dev Dashboard create an app owned by the same organisation as your store.
- Give it the scopes below and install it on the store.
- Copy the Client ID and Client secret.
Older custom apps made in the store's admin before 2026 still have a permanent token starting shpat_. You can use that instead.
Connect it in Phynxa
- Integrations, Connect on Shopify.
- Enter Shop (for example
acme.myshopify.com). - Enter Client ID and Client secret, or only the Admin API token (older apps) and leave the client fields empty.
- Choose Check and connect.
Permissions and settings
Scopes: read_orders, read_customers, write_customers, read_products. Orders older than 60 days also need read_all_orders. With a client secret, Phynxa gets a token that lasts 24 hours and renews it automatically.
Use it in a call
On an agent's Tools tab, Add tool, Integration, Shopify:
| Action | What it does | Runs |
|---|---|---|
| Find order | Looks up an order: status, payment, shipping and tracking. Needs the order_number and the email on the order, and shows nothing unless both match, so knowing a number alone reveals nothing. | Waits |
| Find customer | Finds a customer by email, phone or name: name, email, phone and number of orders. Internal notes, tags and spend are not shared with the agent. | Waits |
| Create customer | Adds a customer from first_name, last_name, email and phone; an email, a phone or a last name is needed. | In the background |
| Find product | Finds products by name: price, stock and variants. Needs query. | Waits |
Test it
Test connection should answer "Shopify is responding."
Expected result
The card shows Connected.
Troubleshooting
- The check fails. Re-check the shop address, the client ID and secret, and that the app is installed on this store.
- Older orders missing. Add
read_all_orders. - Errors that look like success. Shopify's GraphQL replies 200 even for failures; Phynxa reads those as failures and shows the message.
Security and credentials
Secrets are stored encrypted. Uninstall the app in Shopify to revoke access; Remove forgets the credentials here.
