Airtable

Connect one Airtable base and table with a personal access token so an agent can log calls and look rows up.

What you will achieve

One Airtable table will show Connected.

Overview and use cases

The connection can add and update rows and look rows up, which is the basis for logging calls in a table.

Prerequisites

  • An Airtable account and a base with a table.

External account setup (in Airtable)

Airtable controls these screens. Airtable's guide: Web API.

  1. Create a personal access token at airtable.com/create/tokens.
  2. Give it the scopes data.records:read and data.records:write.
  3. Add the base you want to use to the token's access list.
  4. Copy the token, then copy the Base ID from the base's URL (it starts with app) and note the table name or id (tbl…).

Connect it in Phynxa

  1. Integrations, Connect on Airtable.
  2. Enter Personal access token, Base ID and Table.
  3. Choose Check and connect.

Permissions and settings

Personal access tokenRequired.
Base IDRequired. Starts with app.

Airtable allows about 5 requests a second per base; if it answers 429, wait 30 seconds.

Use it in a call

On an agent's Tools tab, Add tool, Integration, Airtable:

ActionWhat it doesRuns
Find recordsFinds records where one column equals a value, such as a phone number. Needs field and value; max_records is optional (up to 100).Waits

Update recordChanges fields of a record. Needs record_id and fields (same format). In the background

The agent always works in the base and table saved with the connection; it cannot name another.

Test it

Test connection should answer "Airtable is responding."

Expected result

The card shows Connected.

Troubleshooting

  • 403 or not found. The base was not added to the token, or the scopes are missing.
  • Wrong table. Use the exact table name, or its tbl… id.

Security and credentials

The token is stored encrypted. Delete it in Airtable to revoke access; Remove forgets it here.
